   So I absolutely love the idea behind Fresh Sliced News. My one experience with the current release (0.5), however, was somewhat disappointing. I am currently running Windows 7 (final release that will be in stores), which I hope is the main reason for the problem (perhaps you haven’t tested it yet).

   I open the program, it gives me the little word bubble thing in the top left and the search in top right, I assume that’s all that’s supposed to be there. But when I enter a query to search, nothing happens. Press Enter… nothing. Click the magnifying glass icon… nothing. It just sits there.

   I have no AV software or otherwise blocked by a software firewall.

   Just a little heads up incase you haven’t tried it in 7.

   BESIDES THAT THOUGH, I CANNOT WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON A WORKING FINAL RELEASE OF THIS APP CAUSE IT IS A GREAT IDEA! KEEP IT UP AND I HOPE TO SEE IT.

   Thanks so much for your comment, Wolf. Encouragement from users means a lot to us and helps keep us going.

   The problem is actually not that you’re using Windows 7 but that you’re trying one of a few features that are hinted at but not quite implemented yet — search is one, formatting articles on web pages into columns is another. Soon!

   Just to be 100% clear, though, that search box is not how you add feeds — to do that, you add a section, then type the news source name or a custom feed URL in the box below the section name. We intend to have the search box allow you to enter a term you’re looking for among the items in your current section. Then we’ll either have non-matching items dim out, or temporarily disappear, leaving behind the ones that do match your search. Make sense?

   Hey,

   supercool app. would love to use it everyday. Problem at the moment is I don’t want to add my favourite news feeds everyday. For some reason it doesn’t save the customized sections and feeds.
   Otherwise good luck and thanks for such a cool app.

   We took this offline and diagnosed the problem — the solution was a few code tweaks incorporated into version 0.6.1. Dig it! Thanks to Lars for getting in touch with us.
